This one was a bit harder. It could have been Sex and the City, Scrubs, Heroes, Buffy or a number of other shows. But in the end, I've gone for the show that I've been watching the longest.



I own all 10 seasons on DVD, my calendars circa 1999-2002 were Friends-related, I even plan my social life around Friends marathons on cable! :P My family still says PIVOT PIVOT PIVOT everytime we move furniture.

Jeff Buckley is one of those artists I could listen to forever. Everybody Here Wants You and Lover, You Should Have Come Over are definitely in my top 20 favourite songs. But Satisfied Mind has resonated with me since I first heard it. His voice when he hits that second mooooney (around 2:30) sends shivers down my spine every time. FYI, this song will be played at my funeral ;)

Well I'm back from Bali, and SICK AS A DOG. Poisoned by cheap local vodka and suffering from digestive problems I will not torture you with! But hey, lost a few kilos through not eating :D

I bought seasons 1 and 2 of The Big Bang Theory overseas, and smashed through them in two days off sick. So much fun!

I know speccygeekgrrl is a fan; she's written Howard/Raj recently... Has anyone else watched the show? What are your thoughts? Who do you ship? What should I read?

Yes, still watching Heroes (two episodes behind) and Glee (one episode behind). I will catch up soon, I promise!

I haven't watched 4.08 OR 4.09 of Heroes yet so there will be some avoidance of the flist for a few more days. Apologies!

Also, Jensen Ackles got engaged and fandom DIDN'T explode :( I had such high hopes for the ONTD post but it turned into a massive gifspam. (Disclaimer: I think Danneel is awesomely hot and waaayyyyy nicer given the situation than I would be. Hell, if I went to a con as someone's gf you bet your ass I'd be making out with them to piss the fangirls off :P So happy for them, not happy about fandom's newfound maturity.)

Everyone on my flist is raging about this week's Heroes, which I haven't downloaded yet. Should I read your posts or wait until I watch the epi?? Hmmm

In other news, I won my office sweep for the Melbourne Cup (the horse race that stops the nation). Wooohooo!!!! $26 back from two $2 bets. Well, two $2 bets, one $5 bet on another sweep, $7.50 for Nandos lunch and $6.50 for dessert. Still, I came out ahead XD

Back from Melbourne! Had a great ten days of shopping, football, drinking and just enjoying not being at work :P

Second day back and already sick of the 9-to-5 grind.

Earlier this week I decided to reread Half Blood Prince before seeing the new movie. (Plus we're ridiculously quiet at work and I needed something to occupy my week!) Anyway, rereading has just made me sooooooo nostalgic for the golden days of HP fandom. Yes, it was wanky and crazy but god I loved it.

There was just something about that fandom that, for me, will never be replicated. The build up and anticipation before each book or movie release, the spoiler posts, the reaction posts, the reaction wanks, the art, the fic, the fandom participation, GOD. It really was an amazing few years.

So I've started rereading all my favourite fics, checking out what my fave artists have been up to, looking at old meta posts, pretty much just enjoying a fandom renaissance. It's a great feeling to relive all those old memories ♥

Curious now, but what were all your first fandoms? Favourite fandoms? Do you ever get nostalgic for the good old days?

To everyone on my flist who won stuff at the heroes_het_fic awards, a big congrats! (can't be bothered doing sparkly text right now, but you all deserve it.) There were so many great fics nominated over there, and I read some pairings that had never even occurred to me. I hope everyone got some new reading out of this whole thing.

I've seen it in fic headers for years and years, and I always figured it was some super special code or html that did it. Not a fucking button on my keyboard. Epic fail.

Almost as epic as when I thought (for five years of high school and almost three years of uni) that HAZCHEM was German or something for hazard. Not, you know, HAZardous CHEMicals.

I'll just go be lame over here.

With the news that Panic at the Disco have split (ONTD post here), I was going to rec some of my favourite fics from my brief foray into bandom. But going through my memories I noticed that many of them are no longer accessible. So this has become a post about mem'ing/tagging/favouriting fics. (FYI, I was totally a Brendon/Jon, Spencer/Jon girl. All about the JWalk.)

What method do you all use for storing your favourite fics? LJ memories, bookmark folders, delicious, saved to harddrive, rec posts, other? (Wow, totally should have made this a poll. Too late, can't be fucked now.)

I've gone from saving on HD/bookmark folders to LJ memories to delicious. But the tagging of fics is kinda useless if the author deletes them for whatever reason. I have about 100 fics (multiple fandoms) that I saved on my computer and have since been deleted. What do you do with them then? Can't rec them to anyone, can't tag them (yes, this is all about my delicious OCD!), do you just leave them stored on your harddrive?

I've downloaded the scrapbook application for firefox; I think I might have to start saving pages as I tag them. At least then you know you don't have to resort to lj seek!

Started counting the votes for the het fic awards, emailed a few people about making banners, got my votes in, it's all happening.

Still addicted to Star Trek fic and ST RPS :( It is consuming my life.

Evening all. I have some travel questions I thought I'd put to anyone more knowledgeable than myself.

1) Has anyone been to Mexico? Where should I go? We (best friend and I) mostly want to drink/party, sunbake/swim/enjoy the beach, with maybe a little bit of historical sightseeing thrown in. I was thinking Cancun... I've been to TJ already, so no real need to go there.

2) Alberta, Canada in late Feb. Websites say temperatures -10 C. I have never experienced anything near this cold (I'm from Australia man!) Is it painful? Is that kind of cold unpleasant?

3) February/March = spring break? What age are students typically on spring break? I don't mind having a good time with some frat boys but I'll be 24 by then!

In other news I have started reading fic for the het fic awards. I KNOW! I'm a mod, I should have started weeks ago.I got waylaid by a new, sexy fandom (ST) but I'm ready to vote!

So I finally saw Star Trek last night, and I am totally onboard the bandwagon. So funny! Great action sequences! Good actors (Simon Pegg! Quinto! Zoe Saldana! Karl Urban! Can you blame me for going hunting for RPS already?) Intriguing plot! Space! Leonard Nimoy! I'm so there! (And I say all of this as a lifelong Star Wars girl who has never seen a ST movie in its entirety before).

What I've read and enjoyed so far:
I'm Just A Jealous Guy(Kirk/McCoy, which I think may become my Trek OTP)
One thousand and one ain't got nothing on this (Kirk/Uhura/Spock)

In other news, have just gotten back from a 3hr long dinner at a traditional Mexican place. No burrito/taco/enchilada type food, but cactus salad, chilled soups, blue corn chips, churros. YUM. And it was BYO tequila to put in the margarita shakers. Jackpot!

So according to my delicious page, I haven't tagged anything since the 15th of April. That means that it's all in my bookmarks - 98 FICS TO BE TAGGED. And I haven't even read the heroes_exchange fics or lukexsylar comment fics!

I find myself excited and overwhelmed all at the same time!
